GETTING YOUR L's

How to apply for a licence
The first step to becoming a driver is to take a theory test at any participating Transport SA Customer Service Centre. You can check out the centres available at www.transport.sa.gov.au.
This site should also give you all of the information that you need to go for your L Licence.
Studying for the test is very important for two reasons.
1.Unless you study, you stand little chance of passing.
2.Once you become a driver, you are legally bound to adhere to the road laws that are in place. The Driver’s Handbook will be the best book for you to study. For more information go to www.transport.sa.gov.au/publications. |

Some suburb Community Centres have courses available that can help you with the study of the road rules.
The theory test is in two parts. The first part requires you to answer 8 Give Way questions. If you answer ANY of these incorrectly, you can not go on to take the second part. If you do answer the Give Way section, you will be required to take a 35 question, multiple-choice test. All details again can be found on the Transport SA site.
